Like you, we’ve been greatly-concerned with President Trump’s tariffs on products from countries like Japan, Taiwan, and China.

In particular, Chinese tariffs have hit 145%, which would have a staggering effect on anything that’s imported from that region.

Of course, despite efforts by former President Biden with the CHIPS act, America is still far away from independently manufacturing the electronics and microchips we’d need to avoid the need for imports. One day it may happen, but setting up these factories takes many years and billions of dollars.

We’ve always offered the best mix of quality and value at Titan Computers, preferring to build long-term relationships rather than chasing maximum profits in the short term, but tariffs like these will skyrocket prices for us, and by extensions for you.

While we don’t have all the exact details yet, President Trump has announced tariff exemptions for computers and other related devices like smartphones.

Given that few if any of the components in the computers America needs for our economy to run are made here, this is the only sensible choice and we’re happy the government has come to its senses.

However, the world markets are still unstable as a result of both the tariffs themselves, and the unpredictable nature of how they’re changing day-to-day, which means that some pricing changes may be inevitable.

For our part, we’ll continue to look for the most cost-effective import channels, the best prices we can source world-wide, and the highest quality workstation computers, at the best prices we can possibly offer.
