Recommended Hardware for SketchUp
CPU (Processor)

SketchUp is primarily single-threaded, meaning it benefits more from high clock speeds than from multiple cores. While rendering plugins may take advantage of additional cores, modeling and viewport performance rely mostly on single-thread performance.

- Recommended: Intel Core i7 / i9 or AMD Ryzen 7 / 9 (5 GHz+ boost speeds ideal)
- High-end option: Intel Core Ultra 9 or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X for mixed modeling and rendering
- Budget option: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 for lighter workloads


GPU (Graphics Card)

SketchUp’s viewport performance and visual experience depend heavily on the GPU — particularly its OpenGL capabilities. Professional-grade GPUs offer better stability, anti-aliasing quality, and certified driver support.

- Recommended: NVIDIA RTX A2000 – A4000 (professional series)
- Alternative: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 / 4080 for visualization plugins like Enscape or V-Ray

SketchUp models themselves are not memory-intensive, but rendering, large textures, and extensions can increase demand.

SketchUp benefits from a responsive storage system for fast file loading, autosave recovery, and render caching.
