Titan A400 - Single AMD EPYC Milan 7003 Series Scientific Research Workstation PC up to 64 cores

The standard Titan A400 configuration comes with the latest Epyc Milan CPU technology from AMD, with eight cores and sixteen threads on tap. That’s a lot of computing power, but the real strength of this new platform is the potential for expansion. Using this same socket and motherboard, you can opt for a CPU with as many as 64 cores and 128 threads. A processor that will absolutely obliterate any application that can make use of that many threads. Compared to the previous generation of Intel Xeon processors you could spend twice as much for only half the performance of the Epyc Milan 7003 architecture.

It’s about more than just raw core count as well. Epyc Milan is incredibly power efficient and has astounding thermal properties for it’s computing power. AMD have also made massive improvements to per-core performance, putting it on par with the competition from Intel in applications that only use a small number of threads.

Thanks to AMD’s incredibly competitive pricing and much better power efficiency, we’ve been able to put together a rack-mountable workstation solution that would have been unthinkable just a year ago. A single 850W PSU is more than enough to handle the base configuration, with and ample 32GB of RAM by default. This too can be expanded to a whopping 1TB of RAM.

Clearly customers who buy the base configuration today, can opt to dramatically improve the specifications of their investment in the future.

Pulling it all together is our bespoke Titan 4U server chassis, hosting a Supermicro H12SSL-i motherboard. A powerhouse mainboard that features six PCIe slots, one M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 connector and a whopping 16 SATA 3 connectors.

Investing in an A400 workstation means buying an incredibly versatile and highly-future proof product. Whether you want to do CPU-centric scientific research or one day shift to a different use case altogether, there’s an upgrade path here that will accommodate you.
