The W422 workstation sports the amazing Xeon W Cascade Lake CPU. The base model pushes single-threaded performance with a 3.9Ghz Turbo Boost clock. You get eight threads and, thanks to water-cooling, you’ll see those high boost clocks more often than not. If you are heavily focused on multi-threaded CPU rendering then you can opt for as many as 18 cores and 36 thread, with a boost clock well over 4Ghz. All Intel Xeon W models comes with 48 GPU lanes for serious video card graphics computing.

We paired the Xeon W with an ever-reliable ASUS motherboard, thanks to which the base RAM amount is a whopping 32GB. The ASUS is spacious enough to accommodate up to 512GB of the stuff.

Graphics power is of course incredibly important in a VR workstation. While you might be relying on the CPU for creation, when testing it’s all GPU baby. With this in mind the baseline card that ships with the W422 is the T1000 Quadro from Nvidia, with 4GB of GDDR5. Depending on your budget the sky’s the limit and you can have three!

Core storage performance is provided by the incredibly zippy Samsung 970 M.2 drive with 250GB of storage. Mass storage comes in the form of a 4TB HDD All in all, your bases are covered.
