Titan W64 Octane - Intel Xeon W Cascade Lake - VR Design - GPU Computing Workstation PC up to 28 Cores

Packing a 12-core, 24-thread Xeon W-3235 CPU, the W64 offers the latest fundamental improvements to Intelís elite workstation processors. Turbo Boost Max 3.0 pushes single-threaded performance to new limits, temporarily reaching speeds of up to 4.6Ghz when needed. However, with a nominal 3.3Ghz on tap for all cores fully loaded, performance should never be a concern regardless of the task.

Itís not just raw speed either. Deep learning applications benefits from new dedicated instruction sets that accelerate calculations that are commonly used in modern artificial intelligence applications. Coupled with support for 2933Mhz DDR4, thereís a lot to like when it comes to raw speed!

However Intel didnít just make calculations flow through the pipes more quickly with the Xeon W. They added more pipes! Specifically, there are now 64 dedicated PCIe lanes. That means four x16 slots for four full-speed, high-end GPUs. Which means you can go ahead and stick four of the most bandwidth-hungry cards into the W64 with no fear of diminishing returns for GPU workloads. Itís also important to know that Intelís Mesh Architecture means that every processor core has equal access to RAM and all PCIe lanes, which means any performance penalties for such massively parallel hardware configurations are kept to an absolute minimum.

The motherboard weíve chosen to pair with this CPU allows for as much as 768GB of RAM, with the base configuration sitting at 48GB. Weíve used silent yet powerful cooling, both for the custom Titan WS Chariot case and for the CPU itself. A high-speed solid state drive ensures both RAM and cores are fed with ample data and itís all held together by a selection of 80 PLUS Gold certified CPUs, depending on your chosen configuration.

The Titan W64 is ideal for applications that need high-core counts AND applications that need high core speeds. CPU-based rendering applications such as Arnold Renderer, KeyShot, Pixar RenderMan and Maxwell Render fly on the Xeon W thanks to the abundance of processor threads on offer.

At the same time, applications such as ANSYS Solvers, SolidWorks Simulation and Creo Simulate tap into those massive Turbo Boost frequencies, even when not using all cores, all the time.

Donít forget the Deep Learning acceleration either. With Caffe, Kaldi, MXNet, ONNX, TensorFlow, OpenVINO and PyTorch all benefitting from the specialized instruction sets. Itís the perfect base system for users who need CPU threads now, but may want to expand into more GPU power at a later date!
